My Story
Hardly a day goes by when I am out for a run, a bike ride or just a walk up to the local grocery store without someone from our small Spanish village calling out an enthusiastic greeting.
I live in the Alpujarra, Granada in the Spanish Sierra Nevada mountains. It is near the desert where Clint Eastwood did the Dollars Trilogy of spaghetti westerns. Our village has a padel court and I get together with a group of locals for a friendly game each week.
The great part about living in the mountains is being able to be out on the trails within a matter of minutes for a run or a bike ride. A mere fifteen minutes on the mountain bike gets me to our nearest (of many) rock climbing crag.
I have been sporty for most of my life and there is hardly a sport that I have not tried at least once.
My partner and I moved to Spain in 2013. The process of adapting to a new country has been challenging to put it mildly.
In 2014 I started a YouTube channel that has grown to over 1500 videos since then. I got into a bit of blogging in the same year on the old Blogger platform.
In 2015 I wrote a 200-page book on marathon running and increased my YouTube publishing schedule to 10 videos a week. That was when we moved out of the big city to the mountain village where we are now.
The peace and quiet of country living have enabled me to do a lot more writing.
I love learning and trying out new activities. When I start a new sport I try to learn everything there is to know about it. That pool of knowledge is what leads to the creation of this blog so that I can share with you what I have learned through experience.
That’s me!
